Soprano Saxophone

The soprano sax is high-pitched saxophone keyed in Bb (B flat) that uses a single reed attached to a chambered mouthpiece to create sound. Air blown into the mouthpiece flows across the reed causing it to vibrate and produce sound waves. Saxophones were created to produce a bright, projective tone like brass instruments but with the response and expressiveness of a woodwind.
